The five-AA-star Grand Hotel & Spa in York has doubled in size with the opening of 100 additional bedrooms. The expansion which cost £15m, takes the property’s total bedroom count up to 207.
The bedrooms inspired by the Grande’s Edwardian heritage as the headquarters of the North Eastern Railway, are the latest element of the property’s refurbishment which has included the opening of the Rise restaurant, terrace and bar and the relaunch of Hudsons by Craig Atchinson.
The Grand has also recently opened the White Rose Lounge serving complimentary food and drinks to the hotel’s guests, while work will soon begin on an Arrival Lounge.
